Regen Renewables Ltd., one of Sri Lanka’s leading renewable energy solutions providers, has officially signed a strategic partnership agreement with Noritake Lanka Porcelain Ltd. to develop and implement a 350 kWh solar power project at Noritake’s manufacturing facility in Pannala.

Once commissioned, the solar power project is expected to generate approximately 448,680 kWh of clean energy annually, offsetting an estimated 340 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year. This reduction is equivalent to the environmental benefit of planting several thousand trees, contributing meaningfully to Sri Lanka’s climate action and renewable energy goals.

Regen Renewables brings over 13 years of experience in the solar energy sector, with more than 80 MW of installed solar capacity across domestic, commercial, and industrial projects, and over 5 MW of projects currently under implementation.

Noritake Lanka Porcelain, part of the prestigious Noritake global family, commenced operations in Sri Lanka in 1972 as a joint venture between the Ceylon Ceramic Corporation and Noritake Co. Ltd. of Japan. Over the decades, the company has evolved into Sri Lanka’s pioneering porcelain tableware manufacturing conglomerate, earning global recognition for excellence, quality, innovation, and craftsmanship.

Regen Renewables Managing Director Dr. Lakmal Fernando said: “This partnership with Noritake Lanka Porcelain is a strong example of how renewable energy can be seamlessly integrated into large-scale industrial operations. By leveraging world-class technology and tailored solar solutions, we are proud to support Noritake’s sustainability journey while contributing to Sri Lanka’s broader climate and renewable energy objectives.”

This partnership between Regen Renewables and Noritake Lanka Porcelain underscores the transformative impact of strategic collaboration between renewable energy providers and leading industrial manufacturers, advancing Sri Lanka’s transition toward environmentally responsible and sustainable industrial growth. The initiative also aligns directly with the country’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) targets, highlighting the critical role of private-sector leadership in driving a low-carbon and sustainable energy future.
