The launch of the ‘Mini-MBA’ program for education administrators, school principals and deputy/assistant principals conducted by ZamZam Foundation was ceremonially launched in Colombo on 23 October.

This is a one year of practical studies in Sinhala and Tamil mediums, designed with expert input. ‘Mini-MBA’ is a non-academic, executive training program focused on the fundamentals of business management. The program provides an introductory insight into business, preparing students as well as professionals for what might be a further exploration, or a foundational understanding of the area.

It’s offered free of charge for officers selected through a competitive process together with the Central Province Education Department, as a pilot project, with the aim of developing future ready leaders in the education sector.

Minister of Justice Ali Sabri PC, Member of Parliament Prof. Ranjith Bandara, Director of Central Provincial Education Department Amarasiri Piyadasa, Additional Directors M. Zarudeen and Champika Mayadunne, religious leaders including Ven. Dr. Galkande Dhammananda Thero and Rev. Bishop Asiri Perera, Academics, community and civil society leaders and well-wishers graced the occasion. Zam Zam Foundation Chairman Mufthi Yoosuff Haniffa and Senior Lecturer of Sabaragamuwa University Prof. M.S.M. Aslam also addressed the gathering.

Zam Zam Foundation hopes this project will contribute towards qualitative development of education administrators in Sri Lanka in the long run.
