The Sri Lanka Singapore Business Council (SLSBC) of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce has announced a free webinar for corporate decision makers, CSR foundation leaders, and private educational institutions. Titled ‘Private sector role in enhancing K-12 education in Sri Lanka’, the webinar will feature Gateway Group Chairman and Presidential Task Force on Education Reform Member Dr. Harsha Alles, LIRNEasia Senior Research Fellow Dr. Sujata Gamage, and Ministry of Education Reforms State Secretary Dr. Upali M. Sedere. The webinar will take place online via Zoom from 2:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday 23 March.

Commenting on the webinar, SLSBC President Prajeeth Balasubramaniam said, “The SLSBC promotes bilateral trade between Sri Lanka and Singapore in different industry verticals. This free webinar, which falls under our Education vertical, aims to boost trade in private education services. Given Singapore’s leading position in K-12 education, Sri Lanka stands to benefit immensely from the transfer of knowledge and expertise from Singapore.”

Education Subcommittee of SLSBC Chairman and the moderator of the webinar Yukthi Gunasekera stated, “This webinar is an exciting opportunity for Sri Lanka’s private sector to play a bigger role in enhancing K-12 education in the country. The three expert and eminent presenters/panelists will shed light on gap areas in the current education system that can be bridged by companies, CSR foundations, and education institutions in Sri Lanka and Singapore. We are expecting a full house.”
