SDTI Campus recipient of Commonwealth Award for Excellence

At the Commonwealth Festival of Awards for Excellence, the SDTI Campus was the recipient of the ‘Outstanding Education Institute Award with Quality Education and Moral Standards’. This award festival representing the Commonwealth countries was held on a grand scale in Singapore on 27 July and the chairman of the SDTI Campus Dr. Shan Bandara received this award on behalf of the university. The selection of the most excellent institutes was done by a team of judges specially selected from Commonwealth countries and the presentation of awards was held with the participation of Senior State Ministers and Ambassadors.

SDTI Campus which won the award for being the most excellent University of South Asia in 2022, is a national university which adopts a system consisting of International ISO certified standardised education that produces skilled professionals, who could adequately cater to the requirements of the country. Keeping abreast of the developments in the field of education and joining with international universities, and in affiliation with Skill Development Fund functioning under the fully fledged state institution of the Ministry of Education provides an opportunity for students to access a wide range of higher education courses, diplomas, post graduate degrees master of arts and doctorates in tri mediums of Sinhala, Tamil and English languages. Students are provided with theoretical and practical learning for higher educational courses in multiple disciplines of Counselling Psychology, Management, Banking, Business Management, Teaching, Nursing, Medical Laboratories, Pharmacy, Information Technology, Engineering, Fashion, Drama and Compering, and Languages which would enable them to qualify for high professional jobs and easy access to employment. 2011 Prime Ministerial Award, 2013-2014 United Nations Golden Award for Education, 2018 National Excellence Award, and winning the Excellence Award together with several other awards in 2021 from among 30 or more countries at the Asian Excellence awards festival held in India thereby making known to the entire world the social service rendered by the SDTI Campus.
