Get ready to celebrate a ‘party in a pot’ as Cinnamon Grand brings back its Hot Pot promotion at the Courtyard Restaurant from 15 to 31 August. Being the first five star hotel to introduce the concept to Sri Lanka with its Shanghai Hot Pot promotion in 2011, the Grand has continued to innovate and enhance its offering every year, serving the freshest, best and most exotic of ingredients in a sizzling experience that will leave you searing with satisfaction! Sit down, make yourself comfortable  and embark on a fantastic feast of over 50 items, including 16 types of seasoned meats, 11 fresh seafood items, 15 crunchy vegetables and nine types of noodles and rice along with spices, oils and sauces, in an all-you-can-eat dining adventure. Mix and match your preferred combinations of ingredients in a steaming hot pot, drizzled with aromatic herbs, spices and condiments to your liking, cooked in the stock, sauces and oils you fancy, let it simmer for approximately 30 seconds and be the master of your own flavourful dinner, at your own pace. The promotion also provides patrons an array of Yum Cha appetisers, including Thai seafood cake, duck and chicken triangles with plum sauce, vegetable spring rolls, tofu and vegetable chilli balls and bbq pork balls. Meats available include shredded beef rib eye, shredded beef sirloin, shredded lamb, marinated pork fillet, pork luncheon meat and shredded chicken fillet, to name a few. An assortment of meatballs, fish balls, chicken shomai, prawn hargo dumplings, vegetable flower dumplings, cooked pork skin, pork stomach, chiu chow fried fish skin, beef tripe and crab sticks can be added to the boiling broth for enhanced flavour. Also mix in some prawns, baby cuttlefish rings, squid, oysters, mussels and modha fillet, for variety. Drop in some fresh greens to add colour and flavour, such as watercress, gourd, pumpkin, baby corn, lettuce, spinach, pak choy, mixed mushrooms, seaweed and tofu. Rave to the smoke machines of chilli, ginger, coriander, garlic and pepper sauces, peanut, chilli and sesame oils, oyster, soy, fish and chilli and garlic, red wine vinegar, lemon, hoisin and raw egg sauces. Swirl it around with the vermicelli, udon, noodles (instant, Thai, egg, Shanghai) and types of rice. End the fireworks with some sweet treats for dessert, such as sticky rice and mango, Thai pumpkin cake, mango and corn pudding and bubur cha cha (no, it is not a dance move; it is a Malaysian/Singaporean dessert!). While your pot gets hot, hot, hot, you too can get into the party spirit with special Asian brews and Chinese reds and whites, which complement your meal. So head over to Cinnamon Grand’s Hot Pot Promotion, between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. and partake in this unique and exotic feast, priced at Rs. 1,750 (plus taxes). Call (011) 2497361/2 or (011) 2497440 for reservations.
