“According to the minister, the people of the North Central Province are undergoing severe hardship as a result of the prevailing drought and though the Government is taking all measures to provide people with sufficient water, they lack storage facilities, hence the donated Permoglaze plastic containers will be utilised for water storage,” said JAT Managing Director Aelian Gunawardene.
This is yet another CSR project that JAT Holdings has collaborated together with the Health Ministry, as they are currently in the process of constructing a Rs. 30 million state-of-the-art JAT Training and Simulation Centre to be set up under the auspices of the Sri Lanka College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (SLCOG.).
The containers provided by JAT will be installed in the affected areas, to be shared by the villagers thus affected.
As part of its multi faceted corporate social responsibility projects, the ultimate goal of JAT is to uplift the conditions of the people within the society and economy the company operates within.
