Commenting on the program Head of Marketing, Corporate Communications and CSR Paddy Weerasekera said, “At Expolanka we strive to promote a community-oriented culture and part of that credo is ensuring that the benefits of our business activities go to serving the community we operate in. ‘Eyes of hope’ is yet another aspect of this commitment.”
In October this year, Expolanka’s CSR arm conducted a similar project to mark World Elders Day and carried out a series of Health Camps in Piliyandala, Gampaha, Kaduwela and Kiriwathuduwa areas for over 300 elderly patients.
Expolanka’s CSR arm conducts various CSR activities throughout the year with focus on five areas namely, healthcare, education, environment, community development and disaster relief. Expolanka CSR projects cover a number of social needs in the country and thus establishes Expolanka as a corporate citizen working for a better tomorrow.
As part of the healthcare category, Expolanka facilitates an ongoing chain of affordable medical clinics dubbed ‘Expo Medix’ to provide free medical consultation and subsidised drugs to patients.
