The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Dubai has announced a financial donation of Rs. 25 million to the “Rebuild Sri Lanka” Fund, in support of national efforts to strengthen economic recovery, infrastructure development, and social resilience in Sri Lanka to support the country’s efforts in assisting the victims of recent Ditwah Cyclone.
The donation has been made with the generous support and guidance of Tristar Group CEO Eugene Mayne and Owner of RM Parks Ltd., Sri Lanka and this financial donation was coordinated by Aruna Weerasinghe, staff of the Finance Team of the Tristar Group UAE.
This contribution reflects the continued commitment of the Sri Lanka Consulate General office in Dubai to support the Government’s initiatives aimed at rebuilding and revitalising key sectors of the country, while addressing the long-term needs of communities affected by the adverse weather conditions of the recent floods and landslides.
Accepting the financial donation at Tristar UAE, the Consul General of Sri Lanka to Dubai and Northern Emirates, Alexi Gunasekera stated that this contribution symbolises the strong bond between Sri Lanka and its overseas community and underscored the importance of support of well-wishers like Tristar UAE in supporting country’s efforts during critical times. The Consulate General remains dedicated to mobilising required assistance in securing financial donations and relief items to contribute meaningfully to Sri Lanka’s rebuilding efforts.
