Shinnyo-en Lanka Preschool conducts 32nd Annual Blood Donation today

Shinnyo-en Lanka Preschool, a prestigious preschool education institution owned and operated by Shinnyo-en Japan will hold its 32nd Annual Blood Donation drive today, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the National Blood Transfusion Service (NBTS), Narahenpita.

Shinnyo-en Lanka Preschool Director Ikeda Mikinori expressed his deep appreciation for the overwhelming support received from the community, stating, “In Buddhism, the act of providing one’s own blood for the benefit of another is considered an extremely meritorious act. We are humbled and grateful to witness the annual outpouring of support from our dedicated staff, parents and well-wishers who willingly and selflessly donate blood, embodying the spirit of compassion and altruism.”

The Blood Donation Drive serves as a remarkable testament to the school’s enduring commitment to social welfare and community engagement. The preschool also conducts various other social contribution activities and has stood steadfast with the people of Sri Lanka during times of need underscoring the close relations between the two countries. 

Shinnyo-en Lanka Preschool invites all eligible individuals within the community to join this noble cause and contribute to the invaluable act of blood donation. By participating, attendees will play an active role in saving lives and reinforcing the spirit of compassion and humanitarianism that defines the school’s ethos.

Since its inception in 1987 by Buddhist Master Shinjo Ito, Shinnyo-en Lanka Free Nursery School has remained steadfast in its mission to offer a well-rounded preschool education and holistic learning experience to children aged 3 to 5 years free of charge. The school implements a unique blend of the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) methods and the National Policy on Preschool Education, ensuring that its young students receive a comprehensive educational foundation.
