People’s Leasing helps improve waste management at Polonnaruwa Gal Viharaya

The installed waste bins were presented to Kanda Ketiya Aththadassi-Thero Solosmasthana Bhaarakara by People’s Leasing and Finance Assistant Regional Manager Susil Priyantha, to be handed over to the general public

People’s Leasing and Finance PLC drives its Corporate Social Responsibilities under three focus areas as Education Upliftment, Environment Conservation and Empowerment of Local Communities. As an Environmental Conservation responsibility initiative, People’s Leasing contributed to the installation of waste segregation bins in Polonnaruwa Gal Viharaya based on a need identified in collaboration with Central Cultural Fund and Department of Archaeology under the guidance of Chief Incumbent of Polonnaruwa Gal Viharaya. 

The project was initiated in accordance with a concept by People’s Leasing Company Chief Executive Officer/General Manager Shamindra Marcelline. The main objective of this initiative is to streamline the waste management process and assist in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The installed waste bins were presented to Kanda Ketiya Aththadassi-Thero Solosmasthana Bhaarakara recently by People’s Leasing and Finance PLC Assistant Regional Manager Susil Priyantha, to be handed over to the general public.

People’s Leasing Manager – Marketing, Communication and Sustainability Hishan Welmilla, 

Branch Manager Nalaka Suresh, People’s Leasing Polonnaruwa Branch Second Officer Chammika Jayamantha, Central Cultural Fund, Polonnaruwa Chief Supervisor Thissa Bandara, Department of Archaeology Regional Officer Malinda Nishan and Public Health Inspector in Polonnaruwa Chudath Balachandra area were also present at this event.
