Lanka IOC helps needy families during challenging times

As a part of ongoing efforts to support the Country’s endeavour to mitigate the unprecedented challenge from the scarcity of essentials and economic meltdown, Lanka IOC further stepped up its commitment towards social upliftment by way of distribution of very hygienic dry ration packets to numerous needy families of the society at St. Lucia Cathedral, Kotahena, Colombo.

Lanka IOC PLC Managing Director Manoj Gupta said, “Our ongoing initiatives are in line with the nation’s current need for fighting challenges of economic meltdown and scarcity of food items. During this unprecedented time, when inflation on food items has gone above 30%, people are finding it hard to fulfil their daily needs. We always endeavour to connect with society through our various CSR activities.”

Gupta extended his heartfelt thanks to the management of the Church for giving this noble opportunity and assured them for continued empathy and assistance to the best possible in extending such help.

St. Lucia Cathedral Rev. Father Ronnie Wickramasinghe and the local community extended thanks to Lanka IOC for coming forward during this very hard time and taking care of very needy families.

Lanka IOC conducts many such programs for the upliftment of the society by way of donation of medicine, equipment to hospitals, distribution of sanitizers to the police department, stationery to school children, etc.

As a part of its ongoing efforts to support the Country’s endeavour to mitigate the challenges of the pandemic, Lanka IOC recently came forward in the distribution of 100 Samsung made new smartphones to the Ministry of Education and GoSL. Lanka IOC has been donating hygienic dry ration stuff to numerous families of the Sri Lanka Welfare Society of the Blind Women (SLWSBW) and has also been consistently engaged in providing the Stainless Steel Foot Pedal Hand Wash Sinks, Digital Thermometers, Sanitizers, Liquid Hand wash Bottles and KN95 Kids Masks to the various schools in the Western Province.
