The Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (IRCSL) successfully conducted an Art Competition titled “Siththara” in commemoration of the National Insurance Day (1 September) and Insurance Awareness Month 2024. This initiative aimed at inspiring young minds to explore their creativity, while fostering an understanding of the importance of insurance and protection in everyday life.

The competition, which concluded on 31 October 2024, saw enthusiastic participation from children across the country. Children competed in different age categories, with each group assigned unique topics encouraging them to think creatively about the concept of protection and insurance in their lives. Submissions were collected through the IRCSL official Facebook page, where parents of the participants shared their children’s vibrant and imaginative creations. Entries were evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges based on creativity, use of colour, relevance to the topics and overall impression.

Prizes and certificates were awarded to the winners to recognise their exceptional talent, while all other participants were presented with a certificate of participation as a token of appreciation for their efforts.

The “Siththara” Art Competition highlights IRCSL’s efforts to raise awareness about insurance through creative activities with the public. By engaging the younger generation, IRCSL continues to build a foundation for a more insurance-conscious and resilient society in the years to come.
