Hambantota Port organises Poson dansala in Sisilasa Gama

The Hambantota International Port joined hands with the Seetharamaya Temple in Sisilasa Gama which is approximately 2 kilometres from the port, to celebrate Poson Festival 2022. The Seetharamaya Temple is one of the port’s key community partners. 

HIP organised an ice cream dansala adjacent to the temple, and thousands of devotees visited the stall. A Poson pandol depicting the Samudra Vanija Jathaka story was a major highlight of the celebration and HIP contributed towards the sponsorship. This event is an annual highlight for the Seetharamaya Temple; however, due to the pandemic lockdown it was not held in the last two years. Top officials of the port and staff members actively participated in this religious event.
