Colombo City Centre’s successful ‘Kidventures’ holiday camp

Colombo City Centre recently concluded a productive holiday camp jam-packed with kids aged 4 to 13. The aptly titled exclusive four-day edutainment camp, CCC Kidventures, was held on 20, 21, 27 and 28 August. It turned out to be a crowd-puller with an unprecedented number of participants clamouring for more edutainment-packed activities such as ballet and drumming workshops conducted by Ranara Academy and robotics and coding workshops for eight to 13-year-olds and STEAM activities for kids under seven years, conducted by Learnware.

 Kids who took part were treated to lots of free goodies and special offers, courtesy of CCC’s trusted retail partners. From freshly-baked cookies sponsored by Lago, melt-in-your-mouth ice creams sponsored by Il Café, delicious eclairs sponsored by Food Studio, free goodie bags courtesy of Cargills Foodhall to a special Buy 1 Get 1 Free offer from Playzone for all the little kidventurers, the free treats were numerous. 

The objective of the camp was to ensure the psychological wellbeing of kids who were adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, economic and political upheavals that hit the country back-to-back, and the resulting recurrent disruptions to schooling. The CCC management identified that ensuring kids engaged in healthy habits away from their everyday struggles, during this school vacation is a major challenge for parents and teachers, an issue that CCC was more than happy to address for the benefit of the children.  

Kidventures holiday camp was an ideal opportunity for kids to keep their minds and bodies active while their parents finally took that well-deserved break. It offered kids an adventurous and unique experience with the opportunity to explore and discover new interests, skills and talents. It also presented an ideal personal growth opportunity for kids, removed from their school-home routine, to take on new responsibilities and challenges, developing confidence and independence in the process. But best of all Kidventures was the ideal space to form new friendships amidst fun and learning that will undoubtedly last a lifetime. 

Colombo City Centre always ensures that the initiatives taken by them are for the happiness and wellbeing of the community, and with that objective in mind, CCC conducts Kids Craft Village on the weekends for children to enhance their creative skills and the newly introduced bouncy castle gives the children the opportunity to have fun.
