Browns Hotels & Resorts launched a humanitarian relief effort to uplift the community amidst the economic downturn. Sri Lanka is currently facing a major economic crisis resulting in food and fuel shortages.

With the current economic conditions, people are struggling to make ends meet. The latest humanitarian program launched was to provide relief to those who are most affected.

The project includes the distribution of dry ration packs to the most poverty-stricken families nominated by the Grama Niladhari (village officers) of the divisional secretariat and for the non-profit establishments such as children’s homes, elders’ homes and the incapacitated houses nearby. The project was initiated in response to the current situation, in the localities of Dickwella, Mirissa, Bentota, Pasikuda, Sigiriya and Waikkal, where Browns Hotels & Resorts operate.

Browns Hotels & Resorts Group General Manager Eksath Wijerathne said: “As a business, we strongly believe that it is important to give back to the community as it is our social responsibility. Browns Hotels has always been a community facilitator in the forefront sustaining the nation through calamities and emergencies.”
