Alliance Finance Company and Catholic Youth Federation join hands to plant 10,000 trees in Galle

In a momentous collaboration, Alliance Finance Company announces its partnership with the Catholic Youth Federation for a significant tree planting project in the Galle region. 

This eco-conscious initiative aims to plant a remarkable 10,000 trees, with a vision to contribute to environmental sustainability, in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Queen of the Holy Rosary Cathedral, Galle.

This extraordinary program, organised by the Catholic Youth Federation, The Diocese of Galle, took place on 12 November at the Queen of the Holy Rosary Cathedral, Galle and a number of churches under the Diocese of Galle. This project stands as a testament to the commitment of both Alliance Finance Company and the Catholic Youth Federation to environmental conservation and community engagement.

The 150th anniversary of the Queen of the Holy Rosary Cathedral, Galle, is a historic milestone that holds immense significance for the community. It serves as a poignant reminder of the cathedral’s enduring presence and the strength of the community it has served for over a century. 

In celebration of this milestone, the Catholic Youth Federation, The Diocese of Galle, has organised a series of events that emphasise the principles of unity, sustainability, and environmental stewardship by distributing plants among families of the local communities. Alliance Finance Company has a long-standing commitment to environmental sustainability. Through initiatives such as tree planting, reduction of carbon emissions, and support for clean energy, the company actively promotes eco-conscious practices. The collaboration with the Catholic Youth Federation aligns with its purpose statement “Making the world a better place through sustainable finance”.

The 10,000 trees planted in the Galle region are more than just a symbol of environmental commitment. They represent a legacy for future generations, a testament to the power of unity, and a living tribute to the 150th anniversary of the Queen of the Holy Rosary Cathedral, Galle.
