  • Without a conducive organisational culture, even the greatest investment strategies will falter. This applies nationally as well!
  • However uphill it may be, we need to engage employees and take them along the transformation journey. Leadership, both at national and institutional level, have a very tough role to play here. It’s their day job anyways!
  • Boards and the C-suites must be empowered to take the right strategic decisions. At the same time, all great strategies should be simply explainable to the wider employee base, particularly in a unionised State sector environment. This requires sincerity, humility and realism
  • Keep asking ‘Why?’ and ‘So What?’ for every strategic decision/initiative
