Message - Asmâa Resmouki - President - International Federation of Accountants

On behalf of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), I send my congratulations to the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka (CMA Sri Lanka) as it hosts the CMA Sri Lanka Excellence in Integrated Reporting Awards 2023. 

This annual event, hosted by CMA Sri Lanka, is to promote companies (both listed and unlisted and state-owned institutions / companies) to undertake integrated reporting which is a benefit to both investors and stakeholders. I commend all participants and companies that have been assessed, and I congratulate all the winners. The winners are joining a proud tradition of CMA Sri Lanka. Professional accountants across the business world—from the smallest companies to the largest—make entire markets and economies work. Moreover, success in our field is a great achievement not just for the organizations we serve, but also for the public interest. 

Our profession is a home for those who look for purpose and meaning in their work—and the opportunity to make a difference.

 I encourage all participants and winners to continue their pursuit of an integrated reported mindset and I a those who have yet to do so, to consider the importance of this mindset. I also like to emphasize the importance of ethics and ethical behavior. With our profession’s longstanding commitment to ethical integrity, professional skepticism, and the public interest, I am confident that we will succeed. 

I thank CMA Sri Lanka for its continuing partnership as an important member of our global profession, and I wish all CMA Sri Lanka professionals much success in the years to come.
