NDB yet again proves its prowess in Corporate Reporting at CA Sri Lanka Annual Report Awards 2021

The 2020 Annual Report was NDB’s eighth consecutive integrated annual report, prepared in accordance with the framework of the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC).

 

National Development Bank PLC clinched four coveted awards, at the CA Sri Lanka Annual Report Awards 2021, for its 2020 Annual Report “Everyone.Everywhere.” affirming transparency, consistency, and quality of its annual reports. The bank was recognized in the following categories, Gold Award - Integrated Reporting: Best Disclosure on Capital Management, Silver Award - Integrated Reporting, Bronze Award – Corporate Governance Disclosures and Bronze Award - Banking Institutions sector.

The 2020 Annual Report was NDB’s eighth consecutive integrated annual report, prepared in accordance with the framework of the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC). NDB was also one of the pioneering banking institutions in Sri Lanka to adopt the IIRC framework which is widely recognized as an effective mode of reporting, which encapsulates an organizations value creation process. The twin awards won under the Integrated Reporting category across all sectors, affirm the progressive enhancements NDB has achieved in related reporting. The Bronze award for Corporate Governance Disclosers, again across all sectors; was an affirmation of NDB’s strength in disclosures, as well as, and more significantly, the robust governance framework in place within the Bank, which enables such disclosures. Together with these awards, NDB also secured the bronze award for the banking sector, a sector notable for high competitiveness at the CA Sri Lanka annual report awards.

CA Sri Lanka’s Annual Report Awards is widely known as the benchmark assessment for quality corporate reporting in the country and these awards with which NDB was felicitated, signify the Bank’s efforts in placing clarity, cohesiveness and transparency at the centre of all its annual reports, which is the single most important document that is presented to a wide array of audience including the Bank’s shareholders.

NDB continually reviews and adopts best practice in local and international reporting and disclosure guidelines in its annual reports – in both financial and non-financial disclosures, to ensure quality information provided to all stakeholders.
