MESSAGE FROM THE STRATEGIC PARTNER

I am pleased to issue this message on behalf of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE), as the Strategic Partner of the CA Sri Lanka’s Annual Report Awards 2021.

Over the last 06 years, in our joint effort and commitment to support sustainability, transparency, accountability, good governance of Sri Lankan corporates, CSE has collaborated with CA Sri Lanka in recognizing excellence in elevating the benchmark in reporting standards.

Fundamentals of Corporate Governance have gained momentum among financial market participants. Furthermore, financial reporting standards are increasingly outlined by leading institutional and retail investors from around the world as vital determinants of investment decisions.

The growing commitment of companies and regulatory bodies, along with initiatives such as CA Sri Lanka Annual Report Awards and efforts by other stakeholders, have resulted in a significant improvement in the quality of reporting over the years in the Sri Lankan context as well. CA Sri Lanka has stepped forward to continue this prestigious initiative in a timely environment, as our economy revives from the COVID 19 pandemic and as sustainable economic development roots from best practices such as financial reporting and maintaining corporate sustainability.

As the Strategic Partner of the 56th CA Sri Lanka Annual Report Awards, CSE’s main focus in enhancing governance and transparency of corporates which in-turn would assist investors to make informed investment decisions. The CSE is looking forward to an engaging competition in 2021 and a continued, strengthened partnership with CA Sri Lanka.
