World Youth Conference a boom for Sri Lanka Tourism

The Chamber of Tourism & Industry Sri Lanka welcomes the World Conference of Youth 2014 (WCF 2014) which is scheduled to be held from 6 to 10 May in Sri Lanka. The event is considered as the largest international conference ever held in Sri Lanka. “Over 1,600 youths from 159 countries

and more than 30 youth affairs ministries of the world and several heads of states are expected to participate in the event and it will create a conducive environment to promote Sri Lanka’s tourism industry around the world,” said Tourism Chamber President A.M. Jaufer. “WCY 2014 which is hosted by Sri Lanka in the Asian Region where 60% of the world’s population is said to be would bring much needed international exposure to the country and would definitely project a strong positive image to the world,” he further added. The Chamber also extends its gratitude to President Mahinda Rajapaksha, Youth Affairs Minister Dallas Alahapperuma, Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunge and other organisations who have assisted to host, for their efforts in this first ever largest international event to Sri Lanka.
