Wijeya Newspapers’ association with ‘Sri Lankan Entrepreneur of the Year’ marks a decade

Wijeya Newspapers, Sri Lanka’s largest newspaper circulation group, proudly marks its decade-long association with the ‘Sri Lankan Entrepreneur of the Year’ awards, joining as the exclusive ‘Print Media Partner’ for Sinhala and English newspapers.

This prestigious national awards programme organised by the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) to distinguish, reward and motivate entrepreneurs of the country who have reached the pinnacle of achievement whilst contributing towards the national economy has been greatly supported by the Wijeya Newspapers through its generously contributed promotional patronage throughout the history of the programme.

The promotional aspect of the programme will benefit immensely with the publicity provided through the newspapers of the group, in the Sinhala and English print media. Wijeya Newspapers will offer extensive coverage of the programme and related events, especially the provincial award presentations taking place covering the nine provinces.

It will also be involved in covering the grand finale, the national show on 23 November 2011 at the Cinnamon Grand, Colombo.

In addition to the coverage, Wijeya Newspapers will supplement it further by way of arranging ‘special paper supplements’ relating to the regional and national events.

It is also noteworthy to state that FCCISL has been successful in attracting Wijeya Newspapers to support the programme on a continuous basis owing to the credibility of the event, the endorsement of which is seen by the Group’s participation as Print Media Partner. In 2011, the awards programme being held for its 16th occasion, will recognise and assist to bringing the deserving entrepreneurs of this country who have contributed immensely and worked tirelessly to build their enterprises to the positions of where they exist today, providing employment to many people, to the limelight as they may not probably be known to masses.

The programme was launched on 6 July 2011 at the FCCISL Auditorium and application forms for the event are now available at the FCCISL Secretariat, Vauxhall Lane, Colombo 2, and provincial/district chambers islandwide.
