Vidya , Chitral appointed to boards of Singer Industries and Regnis Lanka

The Board of Directors of Regnis (Lanka) PLC has named Chitral Perera as a Board Director and Singer Industries (Ceylon) PLC announced the re-appointment of Vidya Vidyaratne to its Board of Directors.

Vidyaratne joined the Board of Singer Industries (Ceylon) in October 1997. He resigned from the Board as a Director in August 2008 and was later appointed as an Alternate Director. He is a Director of Regnis (Lanka), Regnis Appliances and Reality Lanka, Alternate Director – Singer (Sri Lanka), General Manager – Factories of the Singer Group, Sri Lanka, and Committee Member – Industrial Association of Sri Lanka. Vidyaratne holds a BSc. (Honours) Degree in Production/Mechanical Engineering from the University of Peradeniya, and an MBA from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia. He is a member of the Institute of Engineers, Sri Lanka and a Chartered Engineer.

As of 7 May 2013, the Singer Industries Board includes H.D.S. Amarasuriya (Chairman), Asoka Pieris (CEO/Managing Director), Deshabandu A.M. de Silva Jayaratne (Director), G.J. Walker (Director), V.G.K. Vidyaratne (Director), and A.C.M. Irzan (Alternate Director).

Chitral Perera is the Director – Human Resources of the Singer Group, Sri Lanka. He is also an Executive Committee Member of the Human Resources Professionals Association. The Board of Directors of Regnis (Lanka) is now comprised of H.D.S. Amarasuriya (Chairman), Asoka Pieris (CEO/Managing Director), Dr. Saman Kelegama (Director), G.J. Walker (Director), V.G.K. Vidyaratne (Director) and Chitral Perera (Alternate Director to G.J. Walker).
