Textured Jersey crowned industry leader in textile and apparel

Textured Jersey Lanka PLC (TJL) was selected as the ‘National Winner’ in the Manufacturing Textiles, Apparel and Leather Products category at the recently concluded Business Excellence Awards (NBEA) organised by the National Chamber of Commerce. The company was also selected as the ‘National Runners-up’ for Excellence in Environmental Sustainability. Ranked among the Top 50 entities in Sri Lanka and the only mill to be listed in the LMD Top 100 ratings, TJL specialises in supplying knit fabrics to global fashion brands. Over the last decade TJL has also emerged as the clear leader in sustainable initiatives, covering the triple bottom line of economic, social and environmental aspects. These two coveted awards reinforce a consistent high performance which the company has demonstrated over several years. TJL has so far also won over 14 prestigious awards in recognition of its contributions towards sustainability, easily the highest number of awards won by a textile manufacturer in Sri Lanka. Commenting on the awards, TJL CEO Sriyan de Silva Wijeyeratne said, “Being recognised for excellence and bestowed this high honour by the National Chamber of Commerce brings much joy to the entire TJ team.
