A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was recently signed by the National Water Supply and Drainage Board and St. Anthony’s for supplying UPVC pipes and fittings for the biggest water project under taken by the Water Board in the Eastern Province.
The project is funded by JICA at a total cost of Rs. 7.7 billion and its aim is to develop the water supply system in the Ampara District for the benefit of the district’s people. The project is said to cover the Maha Oya, Uhana, Damana, Higurana, Irakkamam, Deegawapiya, Pothuwil and Sammanthurai areas in the Ampara district. (From left) Eng. K. L.
