Molligoda promoted to Executive Director at Bogawantalawa

CEO Jayampathy Molligoda has been promoted as an Executive Director at Bogawantalawa Tea Estates Plc (BTEL) with effect from 1 January 2014. Following a successful carrier at the Janatha Estate Development Board (JEDB), Molligoda joined BTEL in June 1992. He counts over 30 years of executive experience in the fields of financial management, strategic planning and human resource development in the plantation sector. “His vast experience will no doubt be invaluable particularly in this challenging environment,” BTEL said. Molligoda holds the directorates of Metropolitan Resource Holdings Plc, the holding company of Bogawantalawa Tea Estates Plc and Lanka Mother and Child Support Foundation, a non-profit charitable foundation within the parent company. Molligoda is a past pupil of Ananda College, Colombo and a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka. He has also obtained his MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management, and has also successfully completed an Executive Strategy Program at the Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia. Following the new appointment, the Board of Directors of Bogawantalawa Tea Estates Plc will comprise D.J. Ambani (Chairman), L.J. Ambani (Deputy Chairman), CEO/Executive Director J. Molligoda, C.M.O. Haglind, D.A. De Silva Wickramanayake and S.A.S. Jayasundara.
