Hutch honoured as sole telecom brand to win at SLIM DIGIS 2.0

Hutch, Sri Lanka’s preferred choice for mobile broadband services has been acclaimed at the SLIM DIGIS 2.0 annual awards ceremony for its innovative 360 degree digital marketing campaigns that propelled the company’s image to a new high within the telecommunications industry.

Beating strong competition, Hutch clinched the Bronze for ‘Digital Campaigns Excellence 2019’ and was the sole telco winner at the coveted awards ceremony.

Commenting on the accolade, Hutch Chief Executive Officer Thirukumar Nadarasa said: “We are truly honoured to be the only telco to be among the winners at SLIM DIGIS 2.0. It is an achievement that defined the top quality of our digital campaigns that have elevated Hutch’s brand presence within Sri Lanka. This achievement would not have been possible without our dedicated Hutch team working with our digital agency – Digibrush and I congratulate them for this milestone win.”

The award is a testament to Hutch’s focus on innovation in its customer communications. The winning digital marketing campaign was carried out in parallel to the island-wide 4G expansion. After the merger with Etisalat, Hutch extensively leveraged digital marketing efforts to ensure that its message reached a bigger audience-base and then continued the engagement by implementing the latest digital infrastructure.

SLIM DIGIS recognises the best digital campaigns from a range of sectors such as banking and finance, insurance, telecommunications, IT, internet, leisure and hospitality, travel and tourism and many more.

Hutchison Telecommunications Lanka Ltd., the local subsidiary of Hong Kong based CK Hutchison Holdings Ltd., has emerged as a ‘force to reckon’ among other mobile network operators in Sri Lanka. After the acquisition of Etisalat in 2019, Hutch mobile network expanded rapidly and now serves both 078 and 072 subscribers. Hutch’s ground-breaking nationwide 4G expansion was a watershed moment that propelled it to become a leading 4G network operator.
