Germany issues stamp of Sri Lankan blue sapphire

The Sri Lankan blue sapphire has been depicted in the latest issue of a stamp in Germany. The stamp depicting the Sri Lankan sapphire was launched on the occasion of the birthday of German President Christian Wulff.

Heike Faller, Director, Karl Faller Lapidaries, who was responsible for the design of the stamp, presented a copy of the Sri Lankan blue sapphire stamp to the National Gem and Jewellery Authority of Sri Lanka Chairman Prasad Galhena yesterday.
