Duo from TBWA\TAL win at ADFEST Young Lotus 2014 competition

Lanil Peiris and Dilan Herath, a disruptive duo from TBWA\TAL Colombo, have recently won the ADFEST Young Lotus Competition, organised by the 4As in Sri Lanka. Fifteen teams from leading agencies across Sri Lanka took part in the local competition. At the contest, candidates were given a written brief and a specified time to develop a campaign. They were required to provide a short presentation to a judging panel consisting of leading creative talent from the advertising industry. “I am extremely happy that the disruptive campaign the team developed at the competition resulted in their win,” said TBWA\TAL Managing Director Renuka Marshall. “This achievement is a step towards the agency becoming a strong contributor in the regional and global arena.” Commenting on the duo’s achievement, TBWA\TAL Chief Creative Officer Subhash Pinnapola said, “The result gives me great pleasure. I’ve always been a firm believer in young talent and throughout my years in the advertising industry, I’ve invested countless hours and effort in grooming our next generation in taking our flag to the world. I also believe that this is an excellent precedent for young creatives all over Sri Lanka to produce award-winning work and be inspired to have the right competitive edge to be recognised on the world stage.” Peiris and Herath will now go on to represent Sri Lanka at ADFEST’s Young Lotus Workshop in Pattaya, Thailand from 3-8 March 2014.
