DHL, the world’s leading logistics company, recently announced its partnership with HSBC Colombo Fashion Week (CFW) as the fashion logistics partner for the third consecutive year, thereby reinforcing its support towards the apparel industry. Globally, DHL partners with fashion week events in 15 countries across four continents.
Malcolm Monteiro, Senior Vice-President & Area Director, DHL Express South Asia, speaking on this partnership, said: “As the apparel industry aims to transform Sri Lanka into an Asian apparel hub, events of this magnitude will no doubt create a positive impact. Textile and Fashion has always been a key focus sector for DHL globally and therefore partnering with HSBC Colombo Fashion Week is a step in line with that. Globally, DHL has been a critical partner for leading apparel manufacturer and design houses in ensuring their products and design supply chain is managed smoothly and on time from the thread to the store. ”
Thomas Tieber, Chief Executive Officer, DHL Global Forwarding South Asia, added: “Apart from logistics support, we will also be organizing a workshop for the designers and other participants of the HSBC CFW to educate them on the logistics and express services applicable to the fashion industry. This will empower upcoming designers with knowledge on how to get their goods to market by leveraging on what we do best.
