Ceylon Biscuits emphasises commitment to safety, health, environment and quality

Ceylon Biscuits Ltd. (CBL) commenced its annual program to commemorate World Standards Day/National Safety Day with the launch of weeklong programme titled SHEQ Week at a ceremony held under the patronage of CBL Group Chairman R.S. Wickramasingha, members of the Board of Directors, Group CEOs and the SHEQ representatives across the group.

SHEQ stands for Safety, Health, Environment and Quality which are integral parts of the business as an organisation in the food manufacturing 

To symbolically launch SHEQ Week, the CBL Group Chairman placed his signature on a policy statement presented by the Safety Manager and Quality Assurance Manager of CBL on Safety, Health, Environment and Quality emphasising the company’s commitment to 100% safety, health, environment and quality and no impact on the environment within its work place which can ensure the sustainability of triple bottom line.

The company annually takes part with much enthusiasm in activities associated with the National Safety Day on 10 October, National Quality Week and World Standards Day on 14 October to reinforce the importance of quality and safety assurance among its employees. 

Towards this objective this year too a number of activities have been organised by the quality assurance and SHE divisions of the company. 

The closing ceremony of the CBL SHEQ Week will be held today, 14 October, at the CBL auditorium, Pannipitiya.
