Ceremonial induction of AAT Sri Lanka President today

The ceremonial induction of the ninth President of the Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka (AAT Sri Lanka) will be held on 13 May at 5:45 p.m. at the Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala Auditorium, AAT Centre, Colombo 5. 

The outgoing President Lalith T. Fernando will ceremonially induct J.M.U.B. Jayasekera, in the presence of a distinguished audience comprising government officials, corporate leaders and dfhrecognised accounting personalities.

The Chief Guest at the ceremony will be, Minister of Megapolis and Western Development Patali Champika Ranawaka while the Guest of Honour will be CA Sri Lanka President Lasantha Wickramasinghe. 

J.M.U.B. Jayasekera was the Vice President of AAT Sri Lanka prior to his elevation as the President of the association. He has been the secretary to the Governing Council of AAT Sri Lanka during the years 2008 to 2011. He has been a member of the Governing Council since 1996 and has served the association as Chairman of several committees including Finance and Administration Committee, Curriculum Development Committee, Best Annual Reports and Accounts Awards Committee, Professional Development Committee and Members Welfare Committee. He is a pioneer in professional accountancy education in the country and was involved with AAT Sri Lanka from the inception.

At present, with over 35,000 registered students, 4,100 professional members and 31,000 passed finalists, AAT Sri Lanka has become one of the leading educational bodies in the region that has consistently produced a large number of accounting professionals, much needed to a growing economy.
