Blue Diamonds CEO quits

Darshan T. Jayanetti has resigned as the CEO of Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC with effect from 28 January, the company said. He was appointed CEO in July 2013 after Asanga Karunaratna quit from the post in February same yeaa. No reasons were given for the resignation of Jayanetti. In December a Chinese investor Xia Liqiang increased his shareholding in Blue Diamonds to 18% paying Rs. 3.60 per share in accumulating 8.5 million shares or an 8% stake.
