Amal, Dinesh join CIC Holdings Board

CIC Holdings Plc has appointed Dinesh Weerakkody to the Board of Directors of CIC Holdings Plc as an Independent Non-Executive Director, effective 12 February 2015. With the new appointment, the Board will now consist of 11 Directors of whom five are Non-Executive Independent Directors. Amal Cabraal has also been appointed as the Non-Executive Chairman of CIC Feeds Ltd., a subsidiary of CIC Holdings Plc, effective as of 1 April 2015. CIC Holdings Chairman Harsha Amarasekera commenting on the appointments said: “We are extremely pleased to have professionals of the calibre of Dinesh and Amal serving on the Boards of the CIC Group of Companies. They bring a wealth of experience and acumen across a broad spectrum of commercial activity and I have no doubt that they would add tremendous value to the continued growth of CIC. In that light, the Board of CIC joins me in extending them a very warm welcome to the CIC Group.” Weerakkody is the former Chairman of Commercial Bank of Ceylon Plc. He is a former Chairman of the Employees Trust Fund Board of Sri Lanka and a Director of DFCC Bank. Dinesh currently serves in a number of Public Listed Company boards. Cabraal is the former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Unilever Sri Lanka and has over three decades of experience in general management, marketing and sales in Sri Lanka, the United Kingdom, India and Bangladesh. He is an alumnus of INSEAD-France and holds a MBA from the University of Colombo. He is also a Chartered Marketer by profession and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK. Cabraal also serves in a number of public listed company and unlisted company Boards.
