Hyundai Elevator Co. Ltd was established in Korea during 1984 under technical license agreement with Westinghouse USA and received ISO 9001 certification in 1991. In 1993 the company established manufacturing facilities in Shanghai, China to enhance the production facility. By 1999, the company had launched Korea’s first machine room less elevator.

Hyundai Elevator is the first elevator manufacturer in the world to receive a grade ‘A’ certification from TUV, German Institute of Energy efficiency rating (VDI 4707 Part1) involves giving international certification after assessing an elevator’s operation time, energy consumption, and average operation distance. Hyundai’s ultra-high speed Elevator (THE EL) also became the first in the world to receive the ‘A’ class (the best-in-class system) in the ultra-high speed elevator (600mpm) category.

Abans with Hyundai progressing prestigious signatory Water Front Integrated Resort project by John Keels Holdings PLC, from the main contractor HKN Joint Venture, This project consist of 85 vertical elevators and 25 escalators. The ‘Jana Jaya City’ at Rajagiriya consists of 12 escalators and seven vertical elevators. The Dynasty Apartment at Kandy, consists of the tallest machine room less elevators in Sri Lanka.

Hyundai Elevators develops eco-friendly units for customer satisfaction through a design and material development process that reduces environmental pollution. Hyundai Elevators is continually developing low electricity-consuming products and reducing the amount of materials used in the production process in line with customers’ wellbeing in mind, thereby taking the lead in environment- friendly technologies.

Hyundai LOWATT, next generation elevator inverter system, minimises energy consumption by regenerating wasted kinetic energy with a newly-designed power circuit. It is applicable for low-medium speed gearless elevator LUXEN, machine room less elevator YZER, and geared elevator.

The permanent magnet synchronous motor of Hyundai Elevators has an ultra slim and lightweight design, resulting in reduced machine room less elevators, freight and car elevators, Escalators and moving walkways to name a few.
