Zones 1 and 1A of Yala National Park will reopen to local and foreign tourists from 6 a.m. on 16 October, 2026, after a month-long closure caused by severe drought, park authorities said.
The two zones were closed to visitors from 14 September to 15 October.
Tourist bungalows and campsites within the park will reopen from 1 November, Yala National Park Keeper A.T.R. Ravinda Kumara said.
Located in the Tissamaharama area, Yala is one of Sri Lanka’s major wildlife tourism destinations.
