Uber expands to Ratnapura

Uber has announced the launch of Uber Eats and Uber Rides in Ratnapura, further expanding its footprint across the country.

Residents and visitors can now access food, groceries, everyday essentials, and reliable transportation through the Uber app, while local merchants, delivery partners, and drivers gain new opportunities to grow and earn.

Uber Sri Lanka Country Manager – Delivery Varun Wijewardane said: “Ratnapura is home to a vibrant community of local businesses and entrepreneurs, and we’re excited to bring Uber Eats to the district. Every trip is supported by technology-driven safety features including GPS tracking, trip sharing, driver identity verification, in-app emergency assistance, and 24/7 support.

The launch in Ratnapura builds on Uber’s continued expansion across Sri Lanka. It also marks Uber Eats’ second city launch of the year, following Nuwara Eliya, and follows the recent expansion of Uber Rides to Kegalle, reflecting Uber’s commitment to bringing its technology platform to more communities across the country.
