UNDP reassures macroeconomic, human development assistance for SL

Samurdhi Development Minister Shehan Semasinghe met with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Resident Representative in Sri Lanka Robert Juhkam and a technical team on Thursday at the Finance Ministry premises.

UNDP’s support to Sri Lanka in responding to the current socioeconomic challenges, including macroeconomic policy and social protection support, especially from a digital lens, looking at a range of short, medium and long-term options were discussed.

UNDP reiterated its continued support to provide policy and technical advisory support on these issues, drawing on a range of local and international experts.

SDG Integration Specialist Dulani Sirisena, Policy Specialist and Team Leader – Policy and Engagement Fadhil Bakeer Markar, Regional Advisor– Inclusive Growth Mizuho Okimoto- Kaewtathip, Regional Advisor – Human Mobility and Recovery Solutions Francisco Santos-Jara Padron, Policy Advisor – Economic and Policy Research Institute Sandra Berger and ministry officials were present at this occasion.
