Top financial sector professional Ravi Abeysuriya no more

Financial sector top professional Ravi Abeysuriya has passed away after a sudden illness.

At the time of his demise Abeysuriya was serving as the Director of Seylan Bank PLC, HNB Assurance PLC, Bio Foods Ltd., Candor Equities Ltd., Candor Shared Services Ltd., CFA Society Sri Lanka, The Sri Lanka Institute of Directors and Straight Sale Ltd.

Previously he was the Head – Strategic Business Development and Shared Services of Hayleys Group, Managing Director of Amba Research Lanka – a pioneer investment research outsourcing company, Managing Director/CEO of Fitch Ratings Lanka, the country’s first global credit rating agency, and the Head of Corporate Finance at JP Morgan. He was appointed twice as a commission member of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka and was a director of Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation.

Abeysuriya is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK, and a Chartered Financial Analyst and has an MBA from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia.

Remains lie at “The Respect Home” by Jayaratne, Borella from 11 a.m. onwards on Friday 27 October 2023 followed by cremation at General Cemetery (old crematorium), Borella at 12.00 p.m. on Saturday, 28 October 2023. No flowers by request. Any donations, in memory to be given to the Neurosurgical Unit at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka.
