Sutheash appointed to Ceylon Hotels Corp. Board

Sutheash Balasubramaniam has been appointed an Independent Non-Executive Director on the Board of Ceylon Hotels Corporation PLC.

Balasubramaniam is the Managing Director – Sri Lanka of BookingWhizz Ltd., England, and is currently securing professional certification in coaching, accredited by the International Coaching Federation.

He has previously served as the Managing Director of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, Director/CEO of Hayleys Companies, and Sri Lanka Representative of the UN Global Compact Sri Lanka Network. He has also been the Past Chairman of the Sri Lanka Governance Board of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK.

With over 40 years of experience in private, public, professional, and non-Governmental institutions, Balasubramaniam has held various C-Suite level positions, gaining expertise in finance, general management, business development, strategic management, marketing, sustainability, and corporate affairs. He recently led efforts to promote Sri Lanka as a destination on a national level.

Balasubramaniam is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Management Accountants, UK (CGMA), holds an MBA from the University of Warwick, UK, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainable Value Chains from the University of Cambridge, UK.

With this latest appointment, the Board of Ceylon Hotels Corporation PLC comprises Chairman Sanjeev Gardiner, P. Priyantha Maddumage, K. Amarasekera, A.L. Devasurendra, R.P. Pathirana, S. Karunasena, N.D.S. Cooke, D.S. Weerakkody, and S. Balasubramaniam.
