Suren De Silva

Top legal professional Suren De Silva has been appointed to the Board of CT Holdings PLC as an Independent, Non-Executive Director.

De Silva is a highly experienced legal professional with over 27 years of practice, specialising in commercial and corporate litigation, arbitration, intellectual property, shipping and admiralty law, and customs-related legal matters.

He is an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka and a Barrister-at-Law of Gray’s Inn, England and Wales.

He holds an LLB (Hons.) from the University of Wales, College of Cardiff, and a Master of Laws (LLM) from University College London with a focus on the regulation of financial markets, foreign investment in emerging economies, and privatisation.

Currently, De Silva serves as an Independent Counsel/Consultant (Special Projects) at D.L. & F De Saram, Attorneys-at-Law (since 2003); Director at the Colombo Stock Exchange (since 2020) and Foreign Legal Expert at the Kunming Lancang-Mekong International Investigation and Commercial Mediation Centre.

His extensive legal career includes serving as State Counsel at the Attorney General’s Department (1999–2003), advising on securities laws, and acting as senior counsel in numerous high-profile cases across Sri Lanka’s superior courts.

Past appointments also include Directorship at Delmege Distributors Ltd., and membership on the National Intellectual Property Commission (2002–2004).
