Sri Lanka is further strengthening its global trade partnerships in preparation for Sri Lanka Expo 2026, the country’s flagship international trade exhibition scheduled to be held from 18–21 June 2026 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), Colombo.

As part of these effort, a high-level delegation led by Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Minister Sunil Handunneththi, together with Ministry Secretary Thilaka Jayasundara, EDB Chairman and CEO Mangala Wijesinghe held a series of discussions with foreign diplomatic missions in Sri Lanka to strengthen bilateral trade ties and promote international participation in Sri Lanka Expo 2026.

The delegation met with British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Andrew Patrick, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Sri Lanka Dewi Gustina Tobing, and Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Sri Lanka Miyon Lee, where discussions focused on enhancing trade and investment cooperation and encouraging buyer and investor participation from their respective countries at the upcoming Expo.

These engagements highlight Sri Lanka’s proactive approach to strengthening global trade relations and positioning Sri Lanka Expo 2026 as a key platform for international buyers to connect with Sri Lankan exporters across sectors such as apparel, tea, spices, rubber products, ICT services, food and beverages, and industrial manufacturing, while also encouraging investors to explore business opportunities and strategic collaborations with Sri Lankan business entities.

The Expo is organised by the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) in collaboration with the Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Ministry and other public and private stakeholders, with the objective of positioning Sri Lanka as a competitive hub for trade, investment, and innovation.
