The President and members of the Sri Lanka-Pakistan Business Forum had a productive discussion with Acting High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Islamabad A. Christy Ruban on 4 February at the High Commission premises.
The delegation was led by Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka-Pakistan Business Forum President Yasin Joiya. Other members of the delegation included GBC Chairman and Sri Lanka-Pakistan Business Forum Senior Vice President Ahmad Lone, Sri Lanka-Pakistan Business Forum Secretary Eng. Umar Mehmood, Sri Lanka-Pakistan Business Forum Public Relations Convener Shariq Kaleem, Sri Lanka-Pakistan Business Forum Tourism Promotion Convener Sadiq Sabir, and Secretary to the Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka in Lahore Zulqurnain Yasin.
The meeting with the Acting High Commissioner focused on strengthening bilateral trade relations, boosting tourism, and facilitating upcoming business delegations from Pakistan to Sri Lanka. Discussions also centred on initiatives to enhance economic cooperation and explore new opportunities for investment and business partnerships between the two countries.
The delegation reaffirmed its commitment to deepening economic ties and supporting collaborative ventures that will benefit both countries. The Acting High Commissioner of Sri Lanka requested the delegation to visit Sri Lanka and encourage investment in sectors with high potential. He also expressed his gratitude to the delegation for their past contributions and their future plans of action.
