SL shines at 3rd International Food and Agriculture Exhibition FoodAG 2025 in Karachi

A 26-member Sri Lankan delegation participated in the Third International Food and Agriculture Exhibition – FoodAG 2025, held in Karachi from 25–27 November 2025. 

FoodAG 2025 hosted over 500 exhibitors and more than 850 international buyers from 80+ countries, providing Sri Lankan companies—including Cargills, LAUGFS Supermarkets, Hayleys Agriculture, CIC Agri Produce Export, and others—with opportunities to explore sourcing, distribution partnerships, technology adoption, and long-term collaborations. Senior leaders from the private sector, along with the President and Vice President of the Sri Lanka–Pakistan Business Council, contributed significantly to enhancing business-to-business linkages.

Government participation further elevated the delegation’s profile. 

Officials from the Department of Animal Production and Health held discussions with Pakistan’s Animal Quarantine Department on livestock importation and regulatory harmonisation, while representatives from Sri Lanka State Trading Corporation met with the Trading Corporation of Pakistan to explore cooperation in procurement and commodity supply. 

Pakistan Commerce Minister Jam Jamal Khan, to discuss strengthening trade under the Pakistan–Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement (PSFTA). Led and coordinated by Trade and Investment Attaché Mahwash Sami the delegation engaged in business matchmaking, high-level meetings, and networking sessions to strengthen bilateral ties in the food and agriculture sectors. Additional engagements with the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Karachi, and networking events hosted by TDAP provided valuable platforms for market insights and relationship-building. Overall, Sri Lanka’s strong representation at FoodAG 2025 underscored its commitment to advancing bilateral economic cooperation, with promising prospects for collaboration in agribusiness, food security, and trade diversification.
