The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Yangon participated in the Myanmar International Business Trade Show and Travel Expo 2026, held from 4 to 7 September 2026 at the Pan Pacific Hotel, Yangon.
It was organised by the STP Event Management Team, with the participation of the Embassies of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal, prominent Myanmar business organisations and other key stakeholders.
The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Myanmar, Prabashini Ponnamperuma, delivered the Opening Speech and participated in a Panel Discussion. During these engagements, the Ambassador highlighted the longstanding and cordial relations between Sri Lanka and Myanmar and emphasised the importance of further strengthening bilateral cooperation in tourism, trade, investment and people-to-people connectivity.
She also highlighted Sri Lanka’s diverse tourism attractions.
As part of the Embassy’s participation, a Sri Lanka Promotional Booth was established throughout the exhibition to showcase Sri Lanka’s tourism attractions, Buddhist heritage, cultural traditions, and trade and investment opportunities. The Embassy also promoted Ceylon Tea, providing visitors with an opportunity to learn about the quality and heritage of Sri Lanka’s tea industry.
