S-lon Lanka CEO Nalin Jayawardhana named CMG’s Executive of the Year

The Capital Maharaja Group (CMG) recently named Nalin Jayawardhana, CEO of S-lon Lanka, as the winner of its much coveted Executive of the Year award for 2024. 

This award is well-known for having been won in previous years by those who have gone on to blaze trails as pioneers in the nation’s economy. 

This year’s event had a very special Chief Guest – former President of South Africa Thabo Mbeki, a global statesman known as “Africa’s Renaissance Man” for his pioneering work in the rise of the African continent on the global stage.

The award was presented at CMG’s Annual Group Review and 45th Executive of the Year Awards Ceremony by Chairman and Managing Director Sashi Rajamahendran at Stein Studios in Ratmalana.

“It’s a dream for me to win this amazing Executive of the Year award. My heartfelt gratitude goes out to my team for all their support and the Chairman and Board of CMG for the wonderful career I have had with the Company,” Nalin Jayawardhana said. 

The Executive of the Year was chosen from among five finalists: Tuffline CEO Neomi Nalawansa, Kevilton Electrical Products CEO Samantha Alwis, Newsfirst Director Gayan Sampath Somachandra, S-lon Lanka CEO Nalin Jayawardhana, and Deputy Chief Information Officer Tamara Kudaliyanage.

MTV Channel Ltd., was presented with the coveted ‘RR Award’, named after CMG’s late Chairman R. Rajamahendran, for its superb performance throughout the financial year.

The ‘Achievers Awards’, presented for brilliant performances by other CMG executives, were awarded to: AF Jones Manager Purchasing Perumal Selvakumar; Group IT Head of ERP Practice Wasana Mallikahewa; Sirasa TV, MTV Channel Director Dharmasri Ekanayake; S-lon Lanka Sales Support Manager H. W. S. S. Sanjeewa, and Kevilton Electrical Products Dealer Sales Development Manager Chameera Dodangoda. 

The annual gala convention saw the participation of a large number of VIPs, including several ambassadors, high commissioners and other members of the diplomatic community, and many of Sri Lanka’s elite entrepreneurs.
