Rush Lanka Group yesterday said its flagship residential development, Rush Metropolis in Dehiwala, recently received approval from the Board of Investment (BOI) of Sri Lanka.

The approval, reinforces the company’s commitment to developing high-quality residential projects that meet stringent regulatory and governance standards while offering greater confidence to homebuyers and investors, the company said in a statement.

The official recognition was received at the Board of Investment, with Rush Lanka’s Managing Director Sabeer Iqbal, Director Zaid Ariff, General Manager Irfan Rafeek and Finance Manager Zulfihar Ali representing the company.

Rush Metropolis is set to redefine urban living in Dehiwala as the area’s first high-rise residential development. Comprising 125 contemporary apartments, the project combines modern architecture with lifestyle-focused amenities, including a swimming pool, children’s pool, fully equipped gymnasium, dedicated children’s play area and an exclusive rooftop entertainment space designed to foster community living.

Commenting on the achievement, Rush Lanka Director Zaid Ariff said the company has consistently placed transparency, quality and regulatory compliance at the core of every development.

“At Rush Lanka Group, transparency and regulatory compliance have always been at the heart of how we build. From CIDA LB1 grading to ISO certification and Certificates of Conformity, we believe buyers deserve to make informed decisions backed by genuine credentials—not just promises. Receiving BOI approval for Rush Metropolis is another affirmation of our commitment to delivering developments that meet the highest standards of quality, governance and long-term value,” he said.

Granted under the Board of Investment Law No. 4 of 1978, BOI approval confirms that a project has undergone rigorous evaluation and is recognised as a BOI-endorsed investment, with approved developers having to comply with defined legal and regulatory requirements while meeting established investment criteria.

For homebuyers, this provides an added layer of assurance that the project is being developed within a recognised regulatory framework, supported by structured governance and oversight.

BOI approval also strengthens the credibility of a development by demonstrating that the project has satisfied additional regulatory requirements beyond standard approvals. It reflects careful project planning, sound corporate governance and a long-term commitment by the developer to responsible business practices.

The recognition is particularly valuable for overseas Sri Lankans and international investors, as BOI-approved condominium developments are often structured to facilitate foreign investment, subject to prevailing Sri Lankan laws and regulations.

As such the BOI approval serves as an important benchmark alongside certifications such as CIDA grading, ISO standards and Certificates of Conformity. Collectively, these credentials provide buyers with greater confidence that they are investing in a professionally managed development built on strong regulatory foundations.

With Rush Metropolis now securing BOI approval, Rush Lanka Group continues to reinforce its position as a trusted developer committed to delivering quality residential communities that combine modern living with transparency, compliance and long-term value.
