Rohan Karr appointed to The Fortress Resorts Board

Leisure industry veteran Rohan Karr has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of The Fortress Resorts PLC.

Karr joined Hayleys PLC in 2019 as an Executive Director of the Board of Hayleys PLC and as the Managing Director of Hayleys Leisure PLC, which includes The Kingsbury and Amaya Resorts & Spas. He also serves as a Director on the Boards of Summer Seasons Ltd., and Greener Water Ltd., both under the Vallibel Group.

Prior to joining Hayleys PLC, Karr held several senior positions at Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, the leisure sector of John Keells Holdings, including Chief Executive Officer, Executive Vice President, Sector Head, and General Manager, overseeing the Group’s city hotels and resort chain for over 16 years. Notably, he led the launch of the ‘Cinnamon’ brand in 2005 in his capacity as Head of Brand Development.

Before returning to Sri Lanka in 2003, Karr worked in the UK’s hospitality sector for 20 years, culminating his tenure as General Manager of both the Bristol Marriott and the Marriott Marble Arch in London.

He holds a Master’s degree in Hospitality and Business Studies from the UK and brings over 40 years of experience in the hospitality industry.
