Rizan Jiffrey appointed to BPPL Holdings Board

BPPL Holdings PLC has announced the appointment of Muhammed Rizan Jiffrey as an Executive Non-Independent Director.

Jiffrey counts over 33 years of experience, having worked for leading local and multinational companies in Sri Lanka and within the Southeast Asian region.

He is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK (CIMA) and holds a M.Sc. in Management from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He is also a passed finalist of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, holds a Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK (CIM), and has completed the examinations of the Australian Computer Society (ACS). Jiffrey is also an alumnus of the executive education program at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, UK.

Jiffrey held senior level positions within Goodhope Asia Holdings Ltd., Singapore, the overseas Oils and Fats segment of Carson Cumberbatch PLC. He functioned as the Director – Processing Operations, overseeing processing plants and manufacturing operations of the Group in Malaysia and Indonesia. He also served as Director – Projects and Business Development, responsible for setting up all large-scale capacity enhancement projects and processing units in Indonesia and Malaysia. He has also provided leadership to corporate finance, strategic, and corporate planning and strategic business development initiatives in new overseas locations during his tenure with Goodhope Asia Holdings Ltd.

Most recently, Jiffrey was the CEO of the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors (SLID), whilst previously functioning as the Financial Controller of Kahawatte Plantations PLC, and has held senior positions within Forbes & Walker Ltd.

Jiffrey served on the Council of the CIMA Sri Lanka Division during the period 2005-2008.
