Taprobane Seafoods Ltd., categorically denies the allegations of wrongdoing contained in the Daily FT article published on 23 October 2026, titled “Haldanduwana resident takes environmental complaint against Taprobane to several bodies”.

The company operates in full compliance with applicable laws, regulatory requirements and licensing conditions. Its operations are subject to oversight by the relevant State authorities, as well as rigorous independent local and international certification and audit processes. The allegations stem from emails circulated by Oliver Klaus Jahnel, which the company maintains are false and accompanied by demands it considers extortionate.

Taprobane has instituted legal proceedings against Jahnel before the District Court of Mount Lavinia and obtained Enjoining Orders in relation to the dissemination and continued online accessibility of the material concerned. Taprobane takes its environmental stewardship and responsibilities towards the communities in which it operates seriously. The Company remains committed to addressing legitimate concerns raised in good faith and will fully cooperate with any competent authority examining these matters.

The Company also notes that, to its knowledge, Jahnel has not utilised the grievance mechanism publicly available on its website. This mechanism provides a structured process for investigating and responding to concerns, including escalation to senior management and where mutually agreed, referral to neutral arbitration.

Taprobane remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance, environmental responsibility and corporate accountability and reserves all rights and remedies in respect of the allegations and their publication.
